Sleeping and growing

Max and Sam, enjoying a good lounge

There isn't much new to report about Sam and Max lately. They've been mostly the same this past week, sleeping the majority of the time, eating a lot, and pooping even more. Amanda and I are getting better at deciphering what their various little grunts and cries mean, which means that maybe we're getting a handle on this parenting thing.

Max says "I have a present for you. Hint: it's brown and stinky."

Since the boys are still a bit premature (their current gestation age is 38 weeks and 6 days), we have weekly pediatrician checkups to measure their size and weight progress, and they're doing great! Max is up to 6.2 pounds and Sam is up to 6.7 pounds, so they each have gained a little less than a pound in the past week. Each day they seem a bit bigger than the last, and their faces are certainly starting to chub up nicely :)

There are still a few health checks we have to do with them over the coming days, but the pediatrician says they're doing great, so, overall, there's not much else we could ask for at this point. We're still new parents, but my confidence is growing that we can do this, and of course its always reassuring to hear that we have two
normal and healthy baby boys.
