Max (left) and Sam (right) are getting bigger

It's hard to believe that Sam and Max are already two months old. The first couple of weeks in the NICU were quite easy compared to the past six weeks of taking care of the boys at home, however it is still amazing how quickly they grow and time flies by. The old adage "the days are long but the years are short" has certainly held true so far. Today we're going for our two month pediatrician appointment, and extrapolating from previous measurements I'd estimate their weight to be somewhere between nine and ten pounds each. What wonderful little summer hams!
In other news, yesterday was my first father's day. We took Sam and Max on their first outing (that wasn't a medical appointment) all the way to Grandma's house. I received some nice cards and gifts, but the greatest gift was the mid afternoon nap I got to sneak in.

Thanks everyone for the thoughtfulness and good wishes. Being at Amanda's Mom's house was a very safe trial run of how to actually go somewhere with the boys and all the required gear. It was a successful afternoon, but a large part of it was due to the six adults we had for two babies, a much better ratio than what we're used to. Here are some more photos from the visit:

Sometimes I worry that I'm presenting too one-sided of a story about the twins in this blog. I dislike social media in general because everyone lies by omission; it's always a heavily edited highlight reel rather than a true reflection of life, and this blog is no different in that regard. Let the previous photo serve as a disclaimer, that this blog is very skewed and is a celebration of enjoyable moments, and is in no way an accurate representation of parenting newborn twins during a pandemic. To end with a positive tone, here's a bunch of photos from other happenings during the week:

What a wonderful set of photos! Looks like a good time was had by all (most of the time.)They just get more beautiful every day. I'm looking forward to seeing them again.
