During Amanda's pregnancy, neither of us imagined that we'd all be under quarantine when the twins arrived. Over the past few weeks at home, Amanda and I have been careful to minimize risk by limiting the parade of guests that typically visit to celebrate newborns. With that said, being connected to family is important. All of us are healthy and have been safely distancing, so Amanda and I felt comfortable inviting over the Bellevue Kaisers to meet Sam and Max, at long last! Ashley and Edward kindly offered to bring us food, which we greatly appreciate.

As an aside, Ashley is an amazing cook. Her culinary skills are surpassed only by her modesty. We've eaten dinner at their home many times, and Ashley always says something like "Nothing fancy tonight" or "I just whipped up this meal real quick" before presenting a delicious dinner, followed by a fabulous dessert. Yesterday was no exception, and they even brought a wonderful homemade cake to celebrate Amanda's upcoming birthday.

Amanda and I enjoyed catching up with Edward, Ashley, Tessa and Nora, and they finally got to meet the newest additions to the family, Sam and Max. Everyone enjoyed holding the babies, helping to feed them, and just spending time together.

It was a delightful afternoon, and it felt good to finally have everyone meet the boys. I'm sure that as Sam and Max grow up they'll admire their big cousins Tessa and Nora, and our families will have many happy times together.
