Sam and Max are eight months old

Max and Sam say "Thank you Nana and Opa for the Canadian shirts and socks"

Today Sam and Max are eight months old. They're continuing to grow in size, but even more so in abilities. They aren't quite fully crawling yet, however they're increasingly mobile and curious about the world around them. The can easily roll about, flip to their tummy and back, and maneuver to get toys that are out of reach. Also, their appetite for solids is increasing and their thirst for bottles is starting to taper just a little. Our understanding is that they'll continue to get milk/formula from bottles until they're about a year, and over this time they'll transition more and more to solids.

Max, half under the changing table

For whatever reason, Sam and Max often wind up under the changing table whenever they're rolling around in the nursery. They really seem to like being under there. Generally, we don't mind and let them play there until it seems like they might feel stuck.

Max and Sam wearing spinach, it's so trendy right now

Note that this is not from the same dinner as the previous spinach-face. It's just the way meals go, even with the best delivered spoons of food these boys somehow manage to get whatever they're eating all over themselves. We've had to increase the frequency of baths to accommodate for this new occurrence.

Sam in the "Exer-saucer"

Grandma bought and brought over this Exer-saucer toy. They boys really love playing in this thing, for ten to twenty minutes, until they get fussy and want out. There's a whole variety of attached toys and things for them to play with and manipulate. Some of the toys even make noise or little songs! The boys love the sounds; however, thankfully the noise makers have an off-switch that we can use whenever we've heard enough.

Enjoying his turn, Max says "Thanks Grandma!"

Sam is hiding in the playpen, also known as "the playground," "baby land," or "baby jail"

Our place is rapidly filling up with baby toys and paraphernalia. Now I finally understand how children are so capable of taking over your entire house. Thankfully they're so adorable!
