Sam and Max are eleven months old

Max on the left and Sam on the right, as is tradition

I feel like I write this every time, but it's hard for me to believe that Sam and Max are already eleven months old. Their first birthday is just around the corner! As usual, their skills continue to grow and each day they do something new. Just today for the first time ever we saw both boys crawling on their hands and knees, as opposed to the "army crawl" they've been doing for so long. I'll sprinkle some more anecdotes throughout the pictures.

Max and Sam looking almost identical

When Sam and Max were first born we weren't sure if they were fraternal or identical twins. After some time their differences grew more apparent to us and we were convinced that they're fraternal twins. Lately though, they've been looking more similar in some moments, and this photo captures it clearly. Maybe they're identical after all? Time will tell.

Sam and Max are both capable standers now. They can get to a stand with less and less support, although they still definitely do need support. Often times I'll be in the kitchen doing something and I'll feel these little hands grabbing at my leg, only to look over and see Sam or Max standing, looking up at me. Some mornings I'm greeted by these two boys standing in their cribs, just waiting for the day to begin.

Max knows that the best toys are always at the bottom of the basket

Standing also means they can reach many things, including the top rim of this basket which they can easily topple over to get the treasure within.

Max again!

Sam and Max are mesmerized by the spinning wheel toy

Although it looks still in this photo, the wheel can be spun quickly and the colorful blur is a neat sight. Both boys enjoy this new toy, which was a gift from Carlene. Thanks Carlene!

There's nothing more cozy than sitting in
a big soft rocking chair and holding a baby in a blanket.

The boys enjoy crawling up and over anyone that happens to lay on the ground in their territory.

Sam dismounting the island

Early on when the boys first started climbing up onto the kitchen island we worried a lot about them falling off the shelf. Now they each have their own technique for getting down without hurting themselves.

Sam and Max say "See you all soon!"

In one short month these two little hams will be one year old!
