Chelan 2022

Greetings Sam 'n Max afficionados! At the end of August we took a big family trip to Lake Chelan for a week, more specifically to the town of Manson. You may recall we took a similar trip around the same time last year, so hopefully this will become a regular tradition.

This year Aunt Sarah and Uncle Nick joined us for half the trip. It was fun having so many people around, and the boys enjoyed all the attention.

Sam enjoys the pool

There were several big differences from last year, one of them was that the boys really enjoyed splashing in the pool (with a lot of supervision). Last year the boys didn't enjoy the pool, even with the floats that we had, but this year was thankfully different. We spent most afternoons in the pool, but I didn't take many pictures as I was too busy splashing along with everyone.

This neat playground,
Willow Point Parkis by the water. Most mornings we would take the boys to a playground or park, and when they took their afternoon nap then we could go do fun adventures ourselves. We got out paddle boarding and jet skiing this year, which was great.

Sam enjoys the views at Singleton Park

Singleton Park was a funny name, because most people have singletons, but we have twins. This park had an amazing selection of equipment and play structures; it was quite impressive.

Amanda and I got out for another hike, similar to last year. In fact, we went on the exact same hike as last time, so some of these photos might look familiar.

I might even be wearing the same shirt, hat and sun glasses that I wore on this hike last year. You'll have to check last year's blog post to verify.

We visited the beach at Wapato Point. There are nice slides and swings at this beach.

Max and Sam enjoyed many more baths than usual

Between the beach and the pool we wound up giving the boys many more baths than normal. Thankfully the boys love splashing around in the bathtub, too.

Max looks a bit upset in many of these group photos. For whatever reason he really didn't want to be part of photos this year, and just wanted to play. Whenever we picked him up for pictures he got upset.

Mom, Sam, Dad and Max, who obviously isn't enjoying this

This was the best family photo we got at this location. I really wish we had one with Max smiling, but maybe next time!

Overall it was a great trip, and we're already looking forward to doing it again next year. I hope the boys enjoy the pool and beach even more next year, and if the past trend is any indicator, next year is going to be the best yet.
