Sam and Max vacation at Lake Chelan

Mom, Max, Sam and Dad on our annual trip to Lake Chelan

We recently returned from our third annual summer trip to Lake Chelan. This year we stayed at Wapato Point, which has access to a nice beach that the boys really enjoyed. Unfortunately there were some local wildfires just as our trip began, so we spent the first two days mostly inside due to the poor air quality outside.

Sam and Max read with Grandma

Between books, toys and some help from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse TV show, we managed to entertain the boys.

The above photo is similar to one from the first Chelan trip, right here. He's still sucking the same left thumb!

It was really windy outside when I took the above photos, which makes for a neat look.

The boys really enjoyed the beach. I spent a lot of time playing with them, digging holes in the sand, or throwing rocks and sticks into the water. The beach was the highlight of the trip.

We've now done this same hike three years in a row. It's a nice and peaceful break from the boys.

There is a wonderful playground nearby which is oddly well-equipped, given how rural of a place it is. The boys always like playing here, and call it "the green park" since all the playground equipment is green.

Grandma and Baba

Baba spent a lot of time playing with and taking care of the boys.

The boys really love playing with Baba, he's so much fun!

Mom and Dad out for dinner

Amanda and I celebrated our sixth anniversary a bit early, since we had the opportunity to go out for a nice dinner at a local vineyard in the area.

It was a good trip overall, but a lot of work. Hopefully next year there's no more wildfire smoke!
